## Overview
Using the Ethiopia UEI household survey (8 cities; 4,000 households; balanced Impact vs. Control sample), this project analyzes how residents experience urban expansion: reported travel times and transportation modes to the city center, workplaces, food markets, schools, and health facilities — compared between Impact areas (within 500 m of new arterial roads) and Control areas, with full gender stratification.
**Key finding:** The clearest impact of new road infrastructure is on **healthcare access** — Impact area residents report 5–10 fewer median minutes to health clinics and last-visited health facilities. Work commutes, school access, and safety perceptions show no statistically significant area differences.
