MalariScope — Full Website + AI Backend ========================================== This folder contains EVERYTHING: the website (frontend) and the AI model server (backend), combined and already connected together. WHAT'S INSIDE -------------- index.html The whole website (Home, Test, Dashboard, About) style.css All styling script.js All website behavior + the code that talks to the backend backend/ app.py The Python server that runs David's AI model requirements.txt List of Python packages needed model/ malaria_model.tflite David's actual trained model file HOW TO RUN IT — STEP BY STEP =============================== You only need to do this ONCE (Part A), then every time after that you only repeat Part B. ------------------------------------------------- PART A — ONE-TIME SETUP (do this first, only once) ------------------------------------------------- 1. Make sure Python is installed on your laptop. - Open a terminal (on Windows: search "Command Prompt" or use the terminal inside VS Code. On Mac: search "Terminal"). - Type: python --version - If you see a version number (like Python 3.11.x), you're good. - If you get an error, install Python from python.org first, then restart your computer. 2. Open this whole folder in VS Code. - In VS Code: File -> Open Folder -> select this folder. 3. Open a terminal INSIDE VS Code. - Menu: Terminal -> New Terminal (a panel opens at the bottom). 4. Move into the backend folder. Type this and press Enter: cd backend 5. Install the required Python packages. Type this and press Enter: pip install -r requirements.txt (This downloads everything the AI server needs. It may take a few minutes the first time — that's normal. You'll see lots of text scroll by; that's fine.) That's it for one-time setup.
