Overview This project analyzes farm-level data to identify: High-performing crops and counties Seasonal revenue patterns Profitability drivers Yield variations by crop type and region The analysis transforms raw farmer data into actionable insights for farmers, agribusinesses, and agricultural policymakers. Data Source The dataset contains 500 farmer records from various counties in Kenya. It was collected through agricultural surveys and includes detailed information about: Farmer demographics and location Crop types and varieties Planting and harvest dates Yield and revenue metrics Production costs and profitability Inputs (fertilizer, irrigation, pest control) Weather impact and other factors Note: The raw dataset is included in this repository for reference. Key Insights Based on the analysis of the dataset: Revenue: Total revenue across all farmers exceeds KES 1.19 billion Top Crops by Revenue: Maize, Rice, Cassava, Coffee, Potatoes, Tea, Sorghum, Beans, Wheat, Tomatoes Top Counties: Nyeri, Nairobi, Nakuru, Meru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Machakos, Mombasa, Kericho, Kiambu Seasonal Revenue Distribution: Short Rains: Largest revenue share (approx. 35%) Dry Season: Second largest share (approx. 25%) Long Rains: Approx. 11% Profitability: The dataset reveals significant variation in profit margins across crops, counties, and seasons, with some farms achieving high profitability while others operate at a loss.
