Overview The Solar-Powered IoT Egg Incubator is an intelligent, fully automated hatching system designed to address critical challenges facing smallholder poultry farmers in Nigeria: unreliable electricity supply, high equipment costs, and lack of remote monitoring capabilities. By integrating renewable solar energy, ESP32 microcontroller automation, and cloud-based IoT monitoring via Adafruit IO, the system achieves professional-grade hatchability rates while operating completely off-grid. The incubator maintains precise environmental control (37.5±0.25°C temperature, 60±3% humidity), automated egg turning, and real-time remote monitoring through a web dashboard. Powered by a 1kW solar array with 440Ah battery storage, the system provides 5 nights of autonomous operation without sunlight, making it ideal for rural communities with inconsistent or nonexistent grid electricity.
