# eFiche Clinical Transcription QC System
**What it does:**
Takes nurse consultation audio (mixed Kinyarwanda/French/English), transcribes it, extracts structured medical data (diagnosis, medications, vital signs), and **flags dangerous AI errors** before they reach clinical workflows.
Built for the eFiche technical challenge.

## 🚀 Quick Start (2 Ways)
### Option 1: Full Docker Stack (Backend + Next.js Frontend)
```bash
# 1. Clone the repo
git clone
github.com
cd efiche
# 2. Copy environment file
cp .env.example .env
# 3. Start everything (Postgres, Redis, API, Celery, Next.js)
docker compose up --build
# 4. Open the Next.js frontend
open
localhost
What runs:
Backend API on
localhost
Next.js 16 frontend on
localhost
Stub mode enabled by default (no OpenAI API key needed)
Option 2: Quick Test (No Docker – Backend + Simple HTML Frontend)
Use this if Docker isn't working on your machine.
bash
# 1. Clone the repo
git clone
github.com
cd efiche
# 2. Create a virtual environment (Python 3.11+)
python3 -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate # On Windows: venv\Scripts\activate
# 3. Install dependencies
pip install fastapi uvicorn python-multipart
# 4. Start the backend server
python final_server.py
Backend is now running on
localhost
To test the frontend:
Simply open the file test_frontend.html in your browser (double-click it).
No npm install, no build step – it just works.
To test the full Next.js frontend (without Docker):
bash
# In a new terminal, from the project root
cd frontend
npm install
npm run dev
Then open
localhost
