# Uganda Land Titling Impact Evaluation — Baseline Data Analysis ## README --- ## Project Overview This project replicates and extends the baseline analysis of the Uganda Land Titling Impact Evaluation (UGA_2015_LTIE-BL_v01_M), a World Bank DIME study assessing the impact of a systematic land registration program in rural Western and Eastern Uganda. **Principal Investigators (original study):** - Markus Goldstein (World Bank) - Christopher Udry (Northwestern University) - Michael O'Sullivan (World Bank) - Joao Montalvao (World Bank) - James Habyarimana (Georgetown University) **Author of this replication and extension:** Jean-Eude GBADA jeaneudes.gbada@gmail.com **Date:** April 2026 --- ## Data Source The data used in this project is publicly available on the World Bank Microdata Library : - **Reference ID :** UGA_2015_LTIE-BL_v01_M - **DOI :** doi.org - **URL :** microdata.worldbank.org - **Collection :** Impact Evaluation Surveys - **Survey date :** July–September 2015 - **Published :** June 2022 **Citation :** Goldstein, M., O'Sullivan, M., Montalvao, J., Udry, C., & Habyarimana, J. World Bank Microdata Library. doi.org --- ## Important Note on Treatment Assignment The randomization in this study was conducted at the parish level across 150 parishes in nine districts of Western and Eastern Uganda. **The treatment assignment variable was not included in the public data release**, consistent with standard World Bank anonymization practice for RCT datasets. As a result, this analysis is limited to descriptive and correlational work on the baseline data. Causal impact estimation requires the treatment assignment file, which is available upon direct request to the principal investigators : - Michael O'Sullivan : mosullivan@worldbank.org - Joao Montalvao : jmontalvao@worldba …
