Code is private due to client confidentiality. # Douala City Council (CUD) - Civic-Tech Ecosystem Note: The source code for these applications is private due to government confidentiality and intellectual property agreements. This repository serves as a portfolio showcase and architectural overview of the platforms I developed as a Lead Freelance Software Engineer for the local government. ## Overview I led the development of multiple citizen-facing civic applications for local government digital services in Douala, Cameroon. These platforms were built to digitize administrative procedures, improve waste management, and enhance civic safety. --- ## 1. CleanDP (Waste Management Platform) ## About the Project **CleanDP** (*Douala Propre*) is a civic-tech initiative born out of a critical need: **transforming how waste is managed, reported, and cleared across the economic capital of Cameroon**. In a rapidly growing metropolis like Douala, urban waste management is one of the most pressing daily challenges. Piles of uncollected garbage, overflowing community bins, and illegal dumpsites (*dépôts sauvages*) create severe health hazards, block water channels, and diminish the quality of life for residents. CleanDP was created to bridge the communication gap between the **citizens of Douala** and the **municipal sanitation authorities (Communauté Urbaine de Douala - CUD)**. It replaces uncertainty with real-time transparency, empowering everyday residents to take part in keeping their city clean. --- ## What CleanDP Was Geared Towards The primary mission of CleanDP is centered on three fundamental goals: 1. **Citizen Empowerment**: Giving every resident an easy, direct way to report waste issues in their neighborhood using their phone or computer-with exact locations and photos. 2. **Municipal Efficiency**: Equipping city sanitation teams with a clear overview of reported issues and active collection vehicles, helping them prioritize interventions where they are needed most. 3. **Transparency & Awarenes …
