Using Polygon (PoS), we issue "Proof of Learning" credentials to youth, replacing hazardous manual labor with verifiable digital skills. Integrated with solar-powered Learning Nests, we turn innate innovation into a sustainable, decentralized community asset. MIT Licensed. Umunthu Digital Bridge Empowering Rural Innovation through Decentralized Literacy The Umunthu Digital Bridge is an open-source framework designed to bypass "information black holes" in rural Malawi. We provide a structured pathway for "intellectual but idle" youth to move from hazardous manual labor into the digital economy using Polygon (PoS) blockchain for verifiable credentials. Repository Structure Project Overview Our solution addresses the "Ganyu Trap" by replacing exploitative labor with a Digital Itinerary. We utilize a Hub-and-Spoke model to distribute resources to rural clusters. Core Components Learning Nests: Localized, solar-powered digital hubs. Proof of Learning (PoL): Non-transferable tokens minted on the Polygon network to verify skills. Inclusive Design: Specialized modules for women, youth with special educational needs (SEN), and GBV/PSEA survivors. 🛠 Technical Stack (Proposed) Blockchain: Polygon (PoS) for scalability and low fees. Smart Contracts: Solidity (OpenZeppelin standards). Frontend: React Native (optimized for low-bandwidth environments). Learning Data: Integration with UNICEF's Agora via API. License This project is licensed under the MIT License - see the file for details. This ensures the Umunthu Digital Bridge remains a Digital Public Good (DPG) available for global scale. Contributing We are currently in the Design and Conceptualization phase. We welcome contributions from blockchain developers, inclusive education specialists, and renewable energy engineers.
