A responsive web platform that connects Sierra Leone farmers with market prices, farming advice, and buyers while supporting SDG 2: Zero Hunger. Salone Farm Connect Digital Public Good (DPG) Project Project Overview Salone Farm Connect is a web-based agricultural platform developed to support farmers across Sierra Leone. The platform provides market price information, farming guidance, and opportunities for farmers to connect directly with buyers. This project was developed as part of a Digital Public Goods (DPG) and Open Source Software initiative aimed at solving real-world problems in Sierra Leone. --- Problem Definition Problem Title Limited Access to Agricultural Market Information and Buyers Location Sierra Leone Who is Affected? - Farmers - Agricultural cooperatives - Produce buyers - Rural farming communities Why is it Important? Many farmers in Sierra Leone do not have access to current market prices and reliable buyers. As a result, they often sell products at unfair prices and lose income opportunities.
