You do not need to install anything on your computer. ### Before You Start: ✅ **You need a Google account** (free Gmail account) ✅ Log into Google Drive before the workshop --- ### Step 1: Open the Notebook Click the badge below to launch the training notebook: ### Step 2: Save Your Own Copy **⚠️ Important:** The notebook opens in **read-only mode**. To edit and save your work: 1. Click **"Copy to Drive"** at the top of the notebook (or File → Save a copy in Drive) 2. Your personal copy will open automatically 3. All your changes will auto-save to your Google Drive **💡 Tip:** Your copy will be saved in Google Drive under "Colab Notebooks" folder --- ### Step 3: Choose a Storm and Download Data The essential rainfall data for this workshop (Cyclones ANA, FREDDY, etc.) is hosted privately. 1. Run the first 3 code cells in your notebook 2. Select the storm you wish to analyse (e.g., `FREDDY`) 3. The data for your chosen storm will download automatically --- ## 📚 Workshop Content Overview This workshop focuses on evaluating the **CCAM rainfall dataset** against other commonly used rainfall products including: - **ERA5** (ECMWF Reanalysis) - **GPM IMERG** (Satellite rainfall) - **Gauge observations** (Local rain gauges) Participants will investigate rainfall from four impactful tropical cyclones: - **CHEDZA** (2015) - **ANA** (2022) - **GOMBE** (2022) - **FREDDY** (2023) ### 🎯 Learning Outcomes By the end of this workshop, you will be able to: * **Compare** CCAM rainfall to existing rainfall datasets both spatially and over time * **Investigate** storms, regions, and time periods of interest for rainfall characteristics * **Develop** da …
