Kakuntha Multipurpose Cooperative empowers communities through targeted interventions in four strategic focus areas, namely Youth Empowerment, Climate Change, Gender Equality and Inclusion, and Organisational Development. Guided by a vision of sustainable livelihoods, social inclusion, and resilience, the plan seeks to address pressing community challenges while strengthening institutional capacity for long-term impact. Through empowerment, the organization will focus on equipping young people with vocational skills, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship opportunities to foster self-reliance and productivity. Complementary initiatives will include the provision of mentorship, life skills, and increasing access to sexual and reproductive health services. The organization will also create platforms for youth participation in decision-making and economic activities. These efforts are designed to reduce vulnerability, unlock potential, and position youth as active contributors to community development. Recognising the increasing risks posed by Climate Change, the organisation will promote climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy solutions, disaster risk reduction, and environmental stewardship. Special emphasis will be placed on gender- sensitive adaptation and mitigation strategies, enabling women and men to jointly contribute to building resilient communities. By integrating conservation practices, renewable energy adoption, and preparedness measures, the organisation aims to enhance food security, reduce vulnerability, and safeguard natural resources for future generations. Furthermore, advancing Gender Equality and Inclusion is also central to the plan. With women constituting the majority of the organisation’s membership, interventions will promote financial literacy, savings, and livelihood skills, alongside leadership development and participation in decision-making.
