A National Cancer Registry is an information system that is established by a Public Health Authority for purposes of supporting collection, storage, management, analysis and use of cancer data. The primary role of a National Cancer Registry is therefore to support registration of cancer, which is a nationally managed process that enables continuous and systematic collection of data about the occurrence and characterisation of malignancies of national interest.
