A free national knowledge interface for the Kingdom of Lesotho
# Letsie AI
A free, three-in-one knowledge interface for the Kingdom of Lesotho.
Chat, Learn and Search — running in any browser, on any phone, over
almost no data, in Sesotho and English.
## Why
Lesotho does not appear in published country-level data on global AI
adoption — it falls below the observation threshold entirely. The barrier
is not interest. It is that flagship AI apps will not install on the
phones most Basotho carry, and cost more data than most households spend.
## The three modes
- **Chat** — a live AI assistant powered by the Gemini API
- **Learn** — micro-courses, twelve lessons at a time, with a puzzle reveal
- **Search** — a national directory of services, seeded across all ten districts
## Architecture
- Frontend: single-file HTML/CSS/JS, no framework, no dependencies
- Chat: n8n webhook → Gemini AI Agent with per-device memory
- Data: Xano — directory, auth, and course tables
- API docs:
x8ki-letl-twmt.n7.xano.io
## Status
Submitted to Build with Gemini XPRIZE, honestly incomplete. I found the
hackathon with hours left rather than the full window and entered anyway,
because the project was mine before I found the competition.
Live: Chat on Gemini, and the directory on real data.
In progress: Learn content served from the client while backend tables
are wired in.
This project did not start for the hackathon and does not end with it.
The next ninety days are already planned.
