This application is designed to bridge the communication gap between Deaf and hearing individuals by using modern mobile technologies. SignBridge allows users to translate sign language into text and speech instantly, making everyday communication more accessible and inclusive. This project was developed as part of our DICT311 module using Java in Android Studio, with Firebase and MediaPipe supporting key features. Our goal is to provide a practical, real-world solution that improves communication without the need for a human interpreter. Group Members : This project was developed as a collaborative group effort, with each member contributing to different aspects of the system. Mbali Precious Ntuli served as the Group Leader and Lead Presenter, overseeing the overall direction of the project. David Matabane was the Project Manager, ensuring tasks were completed on time. Rodney Phili focused on developing the application activities and user interface screens, while Komi Molekoa handled the Java logic classes that power the system. Kholofelo Mmadi was responsible for XML layouts and UI design, ensuring the app is visually clear and user-friendly. Karabo Kekana worked on UI/UX design and created the system diagrams. Keitumetsi Molefi contributed as a co-presenter. Bulelwa Sibiya led the documentation process, supported by Nthabiseng Nkosi and Minenhle Hlatshwayo, who handled testing and research.
