# ethiopian-PEPs-social-media-analysis ## ๐Ÿ“Œ Project Overview This project analyzes PEPs/PIPs using publicly available information from social media platforms. The analysis explores platform adoption, account verification, gender representation, and online visibility among high-profile government officials. ## ๐ŸŽฏ Objectives Analyze the digital presence of Ethiopian PEPs across multiple online platforms. Identify the most commonly used social media platforms. Examine account verification status across platforms. Assess the online visibility of public officials. Identify gaps in digital engagement and transparency. ## ๐Ÿ›  Tools Used Python, Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Google Colab ## ๐Ÿ“Š Analysis Performed 1. Gender Distribution Examined the representation of male and female PEPs within the dataset. Visualized gender distribution using pie chart. 2. Role Analysis Categorized PEPs by their official positions, including ministers, presidents, mayors, parliament officials, and other government leaders. 3. Digital Presence Analysis Analyzed the presence of PEPs across diffenernt platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X (Twitter), TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Websites, Wikipedia, and Telegram 4. Verification Status Analysis Assessed the number of verified accounts across different platforms. Compared verification patterns among public officials. 5. Online Visibility Assessment Measured the number of digital platforms used by each PEP.
