# Malawi Child Nutrition Dashboard Exploratory dashboard for child nutrition status (stunting, wasting, underweight, HAZ/WAZ/WHZ) by district, IHPS panel, with a pre- vs post-2015/16 drought comparison. ## Run locally ``` pip install -r requirements.txt streamlit run app.py ``` ## Deploy for free (same as the rest of the seminar group) 1. Push this folder to a public GitHub repo (include app.py, requirements.txt, and the data/ folder). 2. Go to share.streamlit.io, sign in with GitHub. 3. "New app" -> pick the repo -> main file path app.py -> Deploy. ## Data - data/malawi_child_nutrition.csv: cleaned child-level IHPS data (district names and region codes standardized; wave 1-4 = 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019). - data/malawi_districts.geojson: Malawi's 28 districts, sourced from Natural Earth (public domain, no attribution required, but nice to credit). ## Notes - The "Pre- vs Post-Drought Comparison" panel always compares 2013 vs 2016 regardless of the Wave/Year filter above it, since that is the core DiD comparison. - Rainfall deficit (2016) is only populated for the 2016 wave; other waves will show no data for that outcome.
