The Tech Foundations Bootcamp is a free, mentor-led technology education program designed to give young girls in Africa their first real access to coding, digital skills, and hands-on technology training — at no cost to students or their families. The program is a partnership between Open Kids Africa, She Builds Tech and Oz platform # Open Kids Africa × She Builds Tech × OZ — Tech Foundations Bootcamp > **A free, mentor-led 10-week technology education program for Kids in Africa.** > Powered by Open Kids Africa, She Builds Tech, and the Oz community. --- ## About the Program The **Tech Foundations Bootcamp** exists because access — not talent — is the biggest barrier standing between young African Kids and careers in technology. This program is a structured, cohort-based initiative that brings together three organisations with a shared mission: to give Kids their first real, hands-on experience with coding and digital technology, in a safe, supportive, and mentor-led environment — completely free of charge. Cohort 1 is our pilot. It is deliberately small, carefully designed, and built to prove that this model works, so that we can scale it, replicate it, and reach more kids across Africa in future cohorts. --- ## The Partnership This program is made possible by three organisations working together across their areas of strength. ### Open Kids Africa Open Kids Africa leads on everything that happens on the ground. This includes identifying and confirming the pilot school, managing student enrollment, engaging with families and the local community, coordinating session logistics, and ensuring the program is delivered in a way that is appropriate and accessible for the school context. Open Kids Africa is also responsible for the student assessment process and the production of the Cohort 1 Impact Report. ### She Builds Tech She Builds Tech leads on the curriculum, the mentor community, and the technical delivery of the program. She Builds Tech recruits and trains all mentors, facilitates the joint training workshop, manages the weekly mentor debrief calls, and oversees the Oz platform environment from setup through to completion. ### Oz Platform The Oz platform is the digital learning environment that powers every session of the bootcamp.
