Poor medication adherence is a major cause of treatment failure for chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and HIV. MEDISAUTI tackles this with a workflow designed around real-world constraints: 1. **Scan** — Patients photograph their paper prescriptions. On-device OCR (Tesseract.js) extracts the raw text, which is then intelligently parsed into structured medication records (drug name, dosage, form, frequency, schedule) by AI models (Gemini or GPT-4o-mini), with a regex fallback when no AI provider is configured. 2. **Remind** — The app schedules daily dose reminders via push notifications and announces them aloud using **Swahili text-to-speech** (`sw-KE`), making it accessible to low-literacy users. 3. **Track** — Every dose event (taken / missed / snoozed) is logged with a timestamp. The app derives adherence percentages, daily streaks, per-medication breakdowns, and trend analytics entirely on-device. 4. **Share & Monitor** — Patients generate PDF/JSON/CSV reports shareable via WhatsApp or email, and can link to a doctor who monitors their adherence, issues prescriptions remotely, and views aggregate analytics grouped by medication or condition. Key characteristics: - **Bilingual UI** — Full Swahili/English localization (437+ translation keys), switchable at any time. - **Offline-first** — All core features work without internet using AES-256-encrypted local storage; cloud sync via Supabase activates automatically when configured. - **Accessible** — Dark mode and a high-contrast mode for visual …
