HerBalance is a financial analytics engine built for women-led micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. It converts informal, fragmented transaction records into structured financial data — giving business owners real-time visibility into their cash flow, profitability, and credit readiness. # HerBalance HerBalance helps women micro-merchants track capital discipline, manage group savings via CircleLend, and unlock community funding from a shared Bloom Pool to build verifiable digital collateral. ## HER Hackathon Track * **Track:** Financial Inclusion / SME Growth * **Team Name:** [Financial Inclusion Solo 1- BuildHer] * **Team Members:** * Arogundade Toluwani Christabel — Product Development and Research * Eyaadah Daniella Shalom — Data Analyst & Scientist / Technical Lead * Abdul-Rahman Shukroh Olamide — Presentation Designer * Ezeonye Lotachukwu — Research Lead --- ## Problem Statement Women micro-entrepreneurs struggle to separate personal expenditures from business revenue and track seasonal group savings because their operations are run manually or over scattered conversational workflows. This leads to accidental business capital bleed, severe cash flow constraints for restocking inventory, and total credit exclusion from formal micro-finance institutions. * **Insight 1 (No Collateral):** Traditional banks reject women because they do not own land or property to use as collateral. HerBalance fixes this by turning their daily financial consistency and community trust score into reliable **digital collateral**. * **Insight 2 (Disconnected Savings):** Informal saving groups (like traditional Ajo or Esusu) are completely disconnected from the banking system. This makes a woman's consistent savings efforts invisible to formal credit agencies. * **Insight 3 (Capital Drain):** Mixing personal spend with business cash causes market women to accidentally spend their inventory money, leaving them with no funds to restock their shops. * **Insight 4 (Complex Software):** Busy micro-merchants abandon standard accounting apps because they require too much manual typing and use confusing corporate banking jargon. *Note: AI helped us organize our research and refine questions, but our problem validation is based on real user research and credible sources …
