**AnalystLab Africa Data Analytics Internship — Week 8 Capstone Project**
## Project Overview
This project examines the relationship between digital connectivity and economic
development across nine African countries (Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana,
Egypt, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda) between 2010 and 2023. It applies
the complete data analytics workflow: data cleaning, exploratory analysis,
interactive dashboarding, and insight generation.
**Data Source:** World Bank — World Development Indicators (WDI)
## Problem Statement
To examine the relationship between digital connectivity and economic development
across selected African countries, and to identify disparities, trends, and
opportunities for digital investment.

## Key Findings
- Average internet penetration across the 9 countries reached **42.45%** in 2023.
- South Africa leads the group at **78.34%** internet penetration; the lowest sits at **9.29%**.
- Average GDP per capita across the group was approximately **$2,260** in 2023.
- A positive relationship was found between internet penetration and GDP per
capita. Countries with higher connectivity tend to report higher income levels.
