Standard Arabic and Moroccan Arabic Dialect stemmer ## SAMAD stemmer #### Standard Arabic and Moroccan Arabic Dialect stemmer SAMAD stemmer is a light Arabic stemmer that removes common prefixes and suffixes from Arabic words. It offers the possibility of choosing between standard Arabic stemming and Moroccan Arabic stemming. This latter option aims to deal with online texts where the dialectal forms of Arabic are widely used. This stemmer performed well when tested either on standard Arabic texts, on Moroccan Arabic texts or both. SAMAD is a rule based stemmer, thus, it does not require using a dictionary.
