What is the problem? For majority of public transport users, the lack of convenient access and knowledge to a variety of of transport modes is an issue,resulting in inefficient and costly travel experiences.This is important because barriers to efficient transport are a hindrance to economic participation to the fullest from the marginalized and commuters spending an average of 3 hours traveling daily which contribute to carbon emissions and to sociology-economic issues. What is our solution? Our solution is to provide commuters with information so that they can plan their trips efficiently. The South African transport industry contains insufficient information across these three predominant modes of transport. Our solution aims to optimize the system by enabling commuters to plan their trip with ease and account for safety travels. We aim to provide develop a peer-to-peer model whereby commuters will be the people who give us information about the details of their trip so that it is able to help another user. E.g There is no platform to find information about taxi trips (which is the most used mode of public transport in South Africa) so users will be able to share and search the price and location of the taxi that is departing near them to their desired destination from their home. We aim to provide price and traveling comparisons across the different modes of transport.
