The locations current for the 196 antennas of the SKA1-MID telescope in South Africa as KML and GEOJSON files. The
Geodetic datum used is WGS84. These are useful for preparing talks and publications where the SKA radio telescope needs to be put in a geographic context.
Data are taken from SKA report SKA-TEL-INSA-0000537 dated 13/03/2015.
## Visualizing in a browser
Github will visualize GEOJSON files, so simply click on the link below
## Visualizing in Google Earth
In google earth (desktop) choose File->Import and select 'all files'. Then choose the ska1_mid.kml, or ska1_mid.geojson file to import. You should see something like the image below:
## Plotting using Cartopy
The file plot_locations.py shows how to plot a figure showing the array layout.
