## What is OpenBallot Nigeria?
**OpenBallot Nigeria** is an open-source, civic technology platform that enables the real-time collection, verification, and public display of Nigerian election results - directly from Form EC8A, the legally binding result sheet signed by the Presiding Officer and all party agents at every polling unit.
It is an independent, non-partisan civic body and registered non-governmental organisation - open to all INEC-registered political parties and accredited election observers, and free for any citizen to access.
OpenBallot does not compete with INEC. It runs **in parallel** - providing an independent, multi-source, document-anchored view of results that can be publicly compared to the official INEC IReV portal the moment INEC uploads its own EC8A scans.
**Built for the 2027 Nigerian General Elections - and every election after.**
