This dataset provides global gridded crop-specific parameter grids used to derive agroclimatic indicators in the AGROMINDS processing pipeline. The data combine spatially explicit crop calendars with additional crop and environmental parameters required for growing season delineation and agroclimatic indicator calculation.

The dataset is provided for the following crops:

  • Maize (mai)
  • Rice – first growing season (ri1)
  • Rice – second growing season (ri2)
  • Soybean (soy)
  • Spring wheat (swh)

Each record represents a 0.5° land grid cell and contains the following variables:

  • CLIMATEID – Unique grid cell identifier.
  • YLAT – Latitude (decimal degrees).
  • XLON – Longitude (decimal degrees).
  • PLDOY – Planting day of year.
  • HRDOY – Harvest day of year.
  • PHU – Potential heat units required to reach crop maturity.
  • ELEV – Grid cell elevation.
  • PRMT6 – Dormancy parameter used by selected crop types (e.g. winter crops); included for compatibility with the underlying crop model but not used by AGROMINDS.
  • PRMT74 – Penman–Monteith adjustment factor.

Crop calendars are derived from the GGCMI Phase 1 crop calendar dataset, while crop-specific parameters originate from the EPIC-IIASA crop model parameterization. The dataset serves as a companion resource to the AGROMINDS agroclimatic indicator dataset and enables transparent reproduction of the crop-specific growing season definitions used during indicator generation.
