This integrative review aims to synthesize evidence on the role of health literacy, risk perception, and structural barriers in influencing diabetes self-management among adults in Ethiopia. The review will follow Whittemore and Knafl’s integrative review methodology and will be guided by the Social Ecological Model to examine determinants at multiple levels including individual, interpersonal, community, organizational, and societal levels. A comprehensive literature search will be conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Global Health, African Index Medicus, and Google Scholar. Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method studies published in English from 2000 onwards will be included. Data will be extracted using a standardized data extraction form and analyzed using narrative synthesis. The review will be reported following PRISMA 2020 guidelines
