This report presents a GIS-based assessment of healthcare accessibility and intervention priority across Kaduna State, Nigeria. The analysis covers all 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs), 1,545 healthcare facilities and 26,833 settlements. Settlement accessibility was assessed using distance to the nearest healthcare facility and classified into five accessibility categories. Of the 26,833 settlements analysed, 2,857 (10.65%) were identified as underserved, defined as being more than 5 km from the nearest healthcare facility. These comprise 2,418 settlements with Limited access, 432 with Poor access and 7 with Very Poor access. An intervention-priority assessment was subsequently applied to the underserved settlements, identifying 307 Critical, 1,655 Elevated and 895 Watch priority settlements. Critical-priority settlements were concentrated in five LGAs, with Igabi and Chikun accounting for the largest concentrations. Road proximity was also examined as supporting implementation context; 297 of the 307 Critical settlements were located within 500 m of a mapped road. The analysis provides a spatial framework for identifying geographic disparities in healthcare access and prioritising settlements for further investigation and potential intervention. It does not represent a road-network travel-time or service-capacity assessment.
