Heavy Metal-Contaminated Water in South Africa Poses Health Risks Linked to Non-communicable Diseases: A Scoping Review

This review seeks to aggregate studies to understand the relationship between heavy metal exposure and the risk of developing non-carcinogenic and carcinogenic risks that could lead to the development of the non-communicable diseases. Our focus is on South Africa because of the high burden and reports of heavy metals exposure being the predominant contributor to morbidity and mortality in the country
