Project Description:
This research explores the hydropolitical, historical, and environmental aspects of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) on the Blue Nile. Using qualitative and historical research methods, it analyzes Ethiopia’s water sovereignty, upstream-downstream relations, and the socio-environmental implications of the dam. The study aims to inform scholars, policymakers, and stakeholders about transboundary water governance, regional cooperation, and sustainable development in the Nile Basin.
