The study analysed the implications of cybercrime in Nigeria for global security. The paper also examined the issues identified as cybercrimes in Nigeria in relation to global security, and proffered recommendations to address the challenges of cybercrimes in Nigeria from a global security perspective. The qualitative approach utilised content analysis of heterogeneous sources. It was revealed that the implications of cybercrime in Nigeria for global security are significant, and that cybersecurity is interconnected and requires coordinated efforts to address cyber threats at both the national and international levels. Combatting cybercrime requires a combination of technical measures, cybersecurity best practices, user awareness, law enforcement investigations and prosecutions, and international cooperation to mitigate risks, prevent cyber threats originating in Nigeria, and safeguard global security. It was recommended that implementing these strategies and fostering collaboration among stakeholders will make Nigeria and other countries enhance their cybersecurity posture, combat cybercrimes effectively, and contribute to global security efforts in this digital age.
