This study investigated the influence of entrepreneurship education on tertiary students’ career
intentions in bread making and bag making in Plateau State, Nigeria. Two research questions were
asked to guide the study while two hypotheses were formulated in relation to the research questions
in order to achieve the objectives of the study. The population of study comprised of a total of
16,202 students and a sample size of 1,620 which is ten percent of the total population of the
students from the tertiary institutions studied. Stratified random sampling was employed to cater
for different categories of students in the different tertiary institutions. A descriptive survey
research design was used. A 4-point Likert Scale Questionnaire in which reliability index of 0.87
and average validity index of 0.77 had been established was used for data collection. Data
obtained was analyzed using mean and standard deviation, and inferential statistics using Chi
square (X2) to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The results indicated that
entrepreneurship education has significant influenced (P≤ 0.05) on tertiary institutions students’
career intentions in both bag making and bread making in Plateau Sate, Nigeria. While the
cumulative mean for bag making was 3.14, that for soap making was 2.920 both of which are
above the criterion mean of 2.500. The implications of the results of this study are that curriculum
content and quality of entrepreneurship education taught in tertiary institutions in Plateau State
provides the needed skills that are of significance in influencing the career intentions of the
students in both bag making and bread making.
