Innovative Approaches to Monitoring CPD Engagement for HIV Education: Insights from Digital Medical CPD Platform

This study explores a novel, data-informed approach to monitoring Continuing Professional Development (CPD) engagement among healthcare professionals (HCPs) in South Africa, with a focus on HIV education. Using digital analytics tools, the research evaluates completion rates, professional demographics, and provincial participation in an HIV-focused CPD activity titled "Advancing Towards HIV Elimination: Strategies, Challenges, and Innovations." Over a six-month period, 4,359 verified HCPs successfully completed the activity, with the highest engagement from emergency medicine personnel and general practitioners. Regional participation patterns aligned with local HIV prevalence rates, underscoring the relevance of tailoring educational outreach to healthcare needs. The findings highlight the power of digital platforms in scaling medical education and support Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) by strengthening health systems through professional training and equitable knowledge dissemination.
