The rapid digital transformation of education has positioned Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a transformative force in English language teaching and learning (ELT). This paper investigates how innovative pedagogical practices can be effectively integrated with AI to enhance instructional quality, foster learner autonomy, and deliver personalized learning experiences. Drawing on contemporary pedagogical models, the study outlines practical strategies for AI adoption in language classrooms, supported by illustrative applications in the Nigerian context. It also critically examines ethical considerations surrounding AI use in education, including data privacy, equity, infrastructural limitations, and pedagogical integrity. The paper concludes by presenting a structured framework that enables educators to harness AI’s potential responsibly, ensuring it serves as a tool for meaningful and inclusive English language education in Nigeria.
