In this work, we test two short “inoculation” video[s that expose manipulation techniques commonly encountered on social media and in other online environments: the use of scapegoating and emotional language. The videos are designed to inoculate people against being misled by flawed argumentation used in common online misinformation. The scapegoating video is a locally produced adaptation featuring the same principles as the video used by Roozenbeek et al (2022), whereas the emotional language video is a dubbed version of the animation used by Roozenbeek et al (2022).
