Integrating Science Education and Artificial Intelligence to Promote Entrepreneurship Development for Sustainable Economy in Nigeria

Abstract                                                                      This study investigated the integration of science education and artificial intelligence (AI) as a strategic approach to promote entrepreneurship development for sustainable economic growth in Nigeria. Emerging economies face challenges such as youth unemployment, economic inequality, and underutilization of STEM potential, which hinder inclusive development. Science education in Nigeria has traditionally emphasized theoretical knowledge, often lacking practical entrepreneurial orientation. Concurrently, AI is revolutionizing global industries by enhancing automation, predictive analytics, and innovation, yet its adoption remains limited in many Nigerian educational contexts. Integrating AI into science and STEM curricula can cultivate critical thinking, digital literacy, and entrepreneurial competencies among students, enabling them to create scalable, market-driven innovations aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). AI-powered personalized learning, virtual labs, and project-based activities promotes hands-on experience and real-world problem solving, important for youth-led startups in sectors like agriculture, health, and fintech. Despite its potential, challenges including inadequate infrastructure, limited teacher training, and fragmented policies hindered effective AI-STEM integration. The study advocates for curriculum reform, investment in digital infrastructure, and multi-sector partnerships to harness AI as a catalyst for promoting entrepreneurship education.
