Integration of Small Modular Reactors in Renewable-Intensive Electricity and Integrated-Energy Systems: Protocol for a Systematic Review and Morocco-Relevance Assessment

This registration records the protocol during the conduct of a systematic review of small modular reactor (SMR) integration in renewable-intensive electricity and integrated-energy systems. The review had already commenced when the protocol was registered. A historical search pathway was completed first, and an audited complementary literature search was conducted on 2–3 September 2026 using Scopus, Web of Science Core Collection, SpringerLink and INIS. Registration occurs after completion of these complementary searches and their title/abstract screening, but before finalization of study eligibility, final inclusion decisions and the final evidence synthesis. The registration therefore provides a transparent, time-stamped account of the methods actually retained for the ongoing review; it is not presented as a prospective preregistration completed before review commencement. The review includes a systematic evidence synthesis and a separate analytical assessment of the transferability of findings to Morocco.
