Interférences phoniques de l'annang et du français et ses implications dans l'apprentissage du Français Langue Étrangère

Phonic interference is a phenomenon that permits the transfer of sounds of a mother tongue into a newly learnt language. This engenders wrong pronunciation of sounds resulting in lack of intelligibility in the communication process hence, inefficient communication. This work seeks to identify the differences in the phonemic inventories of Annang and French languages. This will enable the identification of possible points of differences between the sounds of Annang and French languages by Annang learners in the course of learning French. The data for this work was drawn from three hundred and seventy recorded from readings done by students of Annang origin. These recordings were done by the researcher with a phone. The pronunciations of these recorded words were transcribed and serve as primary data for this work. The phonemic inventories of the two languages along with the transcribed words served as data for this work. The qualitative approach and the descriptive method were used to analyse the data. Observations and predictions drawn from the comparison of the presented data clarrified the points of phonic interferences of Annang and French languages.
