The paper deals with the issue of introducing local languages into specialized trainings in agriculture and public health in Togo. It analyses the role assigned to local languages in formal education and their place in the National Development Plan. The study shows that these languages struggle to maintain themselves in the formal education system since their introduction at primary and secondary school; unlike in higher education, where they have been teaching and studying well for over ten years. Their introduction in the near future into specialized training programs in agriculture and public health testifies that there is a need to take into account and promote endogenous knowledge in the sustainable development of each in every place. The analysis is part of a descriptive research of sociocultural facts from collected data and the results of previous studies addressed local languages in formal education.
