INTRODUCTION OF INNOVATIONS BY MULTINATIONAL ENTERPRISES OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

This article is devoted to the realities of the innovation policy of multinational enterprises in the Republic of South Africa. It examines the importance of such companies in implementing innovations in the global market. Data on enterprises for the past 20 years, the results of a study of innovations in the Republic of South Africa are used. It was found that large multinational enterprises significantly more often implement product and technological innovations, as well as new foreign products and processes, than mid-sized firms. South African MNEs are also more likely to adopt foreign innovations developed in collaboration with other foreign companies outside their own MNE or primarily with companies present in the South African market. The article highlights that the activities of South African MNEs are currently evident through the promotion of innovation development in their field of activity. The company displays a technological focus as the implementation of new production projects. The article shows how South African MNEs use innovative technologies, combine R&D investments with strategic marketing, use interactions with highly centralized business structures, actively occupying the best positions to promote new scientific results. The article concludes with a discussion of the future directions of MNE innovation implementation and the implications for their development and improvement.
