iroko-framework/iroko-framework: v1.4.0 — Entity Root Class, Manuscript Model, Contributor Roles, Sankofa Properties

Minor release. All changes are additive — no existing IRIs removed or altered. Fully backward-compatible with v1.3.x.

iroko-core

New root class: iroko:Entity Neutral top-level class for the entire framework. iroko:SacredEntity is now a subclass of iroko:Entity, preserving all existing subclass relationships without modification.

New class: iroko:ArchivalPerson A person defined by their documentary trace in archival records — not a SacredEntity subclass. Designed for use with colonial records, notarial archives, and historical documentation projects.

New annotation: iroko:publicTitleType Sovereignty-relevant annotation on dc:title values. Signals when a title is a surrogate designation (colonial call number, archival label, institutional name) rather than a community-recognized name. Includes PublicTitleTypeScheme with five concepts.

Date precision model Four new properties: iroko:datePrecision, iroko:dateCentury, iroko:dateUncertain, iroko:nativeDateExpression. Supports exact, approximate, decade, century, and unknown precision levels, with preservation of original calendar system notation.

Geographic tradition hierarchy TraditionScheme now has six geographic region top concepts (West African, Central African, East African, Southern African, North African, Nile Valley) plus six Afro-Atlantic and syncretic flat concepts. Existing tradition concepts linked via skos:broader.

iroko-sankofa

• iroko:sourceRegion — geographic region orientation of a return or reclamation movement (distinct from iroko:sourceTradition)
• iroko:geographicLocus — city, country, or region where a movement was primarily based
• Scope note added to module description clarifying that "return," "diaspora," and "reclamation" reflect the self-description of documented movements, not a normative position of the framework

iroko-manifestation

New classes: iroko:ManuscriptObject and iroko:TextContent FRBR-aligned two-level manuscript model (Object and Work levels, corresponding to vHMML Object and Contents tiers). Six supporting properties: carriersText, carriedBy, physicalSupport, textLanguage, textScript, uniformTitle. Includes PhysicalSupportScheme with ten concepts; ostracon carries a scope note on Nubian documentary materials.

iroko-authority

Contributor role vocabulary New iroko:ContributorRole class and iroko:ContributorRoleScheme with fourteen roles derived from the vHMML contributor role taxonomy (CC BY 4.0): scribe, patron, commissioner, translator, compiler, artist, notary, editor, dedicatee, recipient, bookseller, publisher, unspecified, attributed. Prefixed role-contrib- to avoid collision with existing RitualRole concepts.

Version normalized from anomalous 2.1.0 to 1.4.0. No content changes. owl:priorVersion preserves the version history record.
