This study analyses the incomes of a representative sample of cocoa‑producing households in Cameroon, comparing current earnings with the Living Income Benchmark (LIB) and identifying the gap to a decent standard of living. It examines household characteristics, income sources, and calculates a reference cocoa price needed to close the gap, alongside scenario analyses and policy recommendations on productivity, pricing and off‑farm income. The study was conducted by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and the FAO’s Agrifood Economics and Policy Division under the EU‑funded Sustainable Cocoa Programme for Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana.
