Engaging the Ethiopian diaspora in knowledge, skills, and technology transfer is a crucial strategy for national development. The Ethiopian government has made significant strides in creating policies and institutions to facilitate this engagement. However, ongoing challenges related to governance, coordination, and trust need to be addressed to fully harness the potential of the diaspora. Strengthening the governance framework and improving communication and coordination mechanisms are key to ensuring the effectiveness of diaspora engagement in Ethiopia. This data were collected to conducted a study in this regard. The data in this repository is from the nationwide research about engaging knowledge diaspora, including the finalized research and the transcribed data collected from both the diaspora and home institutions
