Abstract: The present study used GC-MS, LC-MS/MS (DPPH and β-carotene), and formalin-induced plantar edema methods to examine the volatile and phenolic contents, as well as the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory assessment of Turgenia latifolia. GC-MS analysis revealed that the primary volatile components of T. latifolia were α-pinene (32.26%), germacrene D (8.0%), phytol (7.52%), spathulenol (5.45%), trans-isolimonene (3.20%), and myrcene (3.14%). Additionally, T. latifolia CHCl₃ and AcOEt extracts contained high concentrations of phenolic compounds, such as vanillin (28.60-206.22 µg/g), trans-ferulic acid (103.46-139.01 µg/g), kaempferol (56.77-132.38 µg/g), trans-cinnamic acid (12.09-101.08 µg/g), p-coumaric acid (16.42-71.07 µg/g), and vanillic acid (21.86-30.80 µg/g). According to the DPPH results, the AcOEt had a strong anti-inflammatory ability (85.56%) and high antioxidant activity (47.03 ± 2.71 µg/ml). Additionally, the β-carotene test revealed that the essential oil has high antioxidant activity (47.23 ± 3.46%). This is the first study of an Algerian T. latifolia's essential oil content.
