This study explores the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to drive national development in Nigeria. A survey of young, diverse, and educated respondents reveals a good understanding of AI concepts, with high awareness but split adoption rates. Top areas for AI adoption are education and healthcare. Respondents see AI driving economic growth, innovation, and improved public services, but highlight challenges like inadequate infrastructure, limited expertise, and data privacy concerns. The study concludes that AI has considerable promise for Nigeria's development, but addressing foundational challenges is crucial to unlocking its benefits. Recommendations include investing in infrastructure, developing AI talent, establishing robust policies, and promoting public-private partnerships.
