This study tests if long election night affects voters’ perception on the quality of elections. This study further examines if voters' perception influences voters’ tolerance on violence in the post-electoral period. In order to test my hypotheses, this study conducts vignette experiment in survey targeting voters in the Gambia. By manipulating the information on the timing of the election results announcement in a hypothetical election, this experiment examines how voters' perception on the election and electoral violence could vary.
