In the word list, the first observation of variation is seen in the nominal prefixes among the speakers. The Abar language is a variety of the Mungbam language of the Yemne-Kimbi group (Good et al 2011) spoken in Lower Fungom in the Fungom Subdivision in Menchum Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. The individual-based word list is collected from two consultants. In the word list we find lexical similarities and differences for the same words from the two consultants. Perhaps gender issues and social life experiences could account for the lexical differences in the speech of natives who claim to speak the same language.
