<b>Peers' Influence towards Making Career Selections from University Students in Tanzania</b>

The competitive employment market has made career selection among prospective university students a major challenge in recent years. This study examines the impact of peers' influence towards making career selections from Tanzanian university students. This research used a quantitative and qualitative approach to collect data from 185 university students who are loan beneficiaries from the Higher Education Students' Loans Board and are currently enrolled at St. John's University of Tanzania, as well as 5 headmasters from secondary schools in the Dodoma Region. Data was collected using a cross-sectional research approach, consisting of questionnaires and interviews. The study found that friends had slight impact on prospective university learners' profession selections also, this research finds that peer input must be led by profession direction counsellors and parentages to assist prospective university pupils in making appropriate profession decisions The study suggested that the government launch seminar programs and workshops to educate teachers and career counsellors who will advise pupils on appropriate career paths.   Key Words: Peers, Career, Selections, University, Students
