This dataset provide the definition of the 304 Large Urban Regions (LURs) in Africa, and contains information on the composition of local units in Africa LURs are an aggregated set of localities forming consistent regions around cities For the definition of LUR, see Rozenblat (2020) and for the building method of African LURs see Rogromel (2024)   This dataset provides the geographic coordinates of the MUAs-core of Africa's 304 LURs. The core MUAs are connected to the urban areas and localities that depend on them to form the LURs.
