The siblings Illiha and Mahane Dohanbaabo perform two lyre songs, the first of which is an autobiographical song labelled ataate. Apart from Baskeet the first song seems to contain Goop (Gofa language) and Amharic. The song, called kari baaba, is a mourning song peformed on the lyre. Illiha is the lead singer and plays the lyre, Mahane accompanies him vocally. Mahane is a potter and a musician playing the lyre and the woysa-flute. Mahane is Tal'ane Abusho's cousin, Masarat Dohanbaabo's younger sister and K'oyaaso Maammo's wife. Illiha is Mahane Dohanbaabo's, Masarat Dohanbaabo's and Ashabbir Dohanbaabo's younger brother. Yvonne Treis is a linguist and works on Ethiopian languages at CNRS in France.
