This is a replication of two treatments of the project with Anna Veri and Malte Dold on Malleable Choice Bracketing, OSF link: osf.io I include the two treatments Control (two questions on favorite ice cream and color) and the treatment with the two prime questions (who to give money to (same four options) and how to spending a gift card (same four options)). In addition, there is a new 'bare' control treatment in which participants only wait for 20 seconds without answering any question. The purpose is to check whether the ice cream/color control treatment is similar to this no-question control treatment in choice bracketing, Dictator Game giving and Cognitive Reflection Test scores (CRT 7). These parts are the same as in the original study linked above. We had received comments that I might not be and we want to check this empirically. Also, the study is performed with the subject pool of the Liseli Decision Lab in Zambia (the original data was collected via Prolific). Earnings are adjusted slightly and changed to Zambian Kwacha. We want to compare the WEIRD and non-WEIRD shares of narrow and broad bracketing participants using the same task by Ellis and Freeman (2024, forthcoming, AER). Hence, this additional online experiment contain three treatments and we want to collect approx. 250 observations per treatment (as in the original study by Dold, Khadjavi and Veri).
